Enough with the Snow! - Turn the Snow Machine Off!!!
Enough is enough! In the winters that I remember here in Spokane, WA this has got to be one of the snowiest winters on record. (perhaps I should check that) Again this morning we woke up to about 4 inches of new snow that we had to shovel from your walks and drives. Today wouldn’t have been so bad except we get the “added bonus” of a pretty brisk wind so not only do we now have the snow but we’re getting the bitter cold.
I’ve always liked the snow for it’s cleansing ability. After a fresh snow things are very quiet, things are peaceful… the sounds of the city are muted and the cares of the world, at least for the moment seem to disappear.
It’s the aftermath of the snow that I don’t care for too much… slippery roads, the melting and the turning of the pristine environment into a muddy, slushy mess, getting “plowed” into your drive by city snow plows, and those heating bills. Interesting thing is…the reason I enjoy the snow is for the calm… the reasons I don’t like it are the inconveniences in my life. Right now I want it gone… the inconveniences are winning.
On the positive side… maybe we won’t have severe drought conditions in the summer… We could certainly hope!!!
